Re: Now That's Smart!
I wish I did, especially during the summer heat. I would very much like to save on electricity.

Re: Now That's Smart!
@batye exactly, it's more about just demonstrating you're on the "right team" than about actually accomplishing anything. People will often give a pass to the organization that demonstrates it falls out on the popular side of thing. But once in a while it blows up in their faces, as in the news of the business associated with the famous "Fearless Girl" not really living up to its own stance on gender equity: https://www.marketwatch.com/story/fearless-girl-state-street-gender-fund-fails-to-live-up-to-its-name-says-morningstar-2019-04-01?ns=prod/accounts-mw

Re: Now That's Smart!
@Ariella  for me it look like - Eh let to photo op and say something tendy - but think later...

it look like our both gov. use the same playbook - what make no sense to people who stop and think... or know how to think  for themself:) sad reality... as laws of physics do not bend to the will of political figures... :)

Re: Now That's Smart!
@batye a lot of it has to do with just adopting a green image. It's rather like branding, showing that you support sustainability without necessarily thinking through how feasible the plan is.

@Michelle Do you have solar panels? There has been a push for them in NY, but we often have cloudy weather.

The MDU market continues to face fierce competition among service providers due to tech-savvy residents (i.e., millennials), demand from building owners and management companies, plus the favorable economics of bulk contracts. However, no MDUs are the same, so service providers must use multiple technologies and inconsistent deployment models, increasing operational complexity and rollout costs.

The MDU market itself is evolving as residents adopt smart-home technologies, generating rising demand for smart apartments with built-in connected thermostats, keyless entryways and doors, and video doorbells. This evolution presents both new challenges and opportunities. In other words, service providers must consider innovative service-delivery strategies to compete and win.

In this Broadband World News and ADTRAN webinar, Kurt Raaflaub, Head of Strategic Solutions Marketing, will highlight emerging MDU broadband Internet trends and challenges. In addition, Kurt will outline the next-generation service creation and delivery platform, built on open standards, that allows service providers to connect millions of underserved MDUs, enables creation of user-driven services, and reduces operational complexity and costs.

Plus, special guest, Alice Lawson, Broadband and Cable Program Manager for the City of Seattle, will discuss Seattle’s B4B-Build For Broadband initiative that addresses best practices in planning for MDU telecommunication infrastructure.
