Very unimpressed
I am very unimpressed by AI software. It is oversold, and underperforming. It promises a lot, but wow does it tank quickly. I believe businesses that decide to rely on it because of the dazzling promises of savings are going to be blown out of the water by the poor performance.

Re: So It's Begun
No one is safe either, high profile IT jobs, as well as entry-level service jobs, are both being replaced by computers.

Re: So It's Begun
The companies don't care where the employees go as long as the company is making the same profit. It is up to us to find jobs in fields that robots can't replace.

Re: So It's Begun
@afwriter. Hopefully companies have a transition plan for employees that lose their jobs to AI. Also employees will have to track control of their careers and get additional training, switch jobs or careers to remain employed.

Re: So It's Begun
@afwriter. Jobs have already been replaced with robots and AI. People who have lost or will lose their jobs to AI will have an impact on the economy. Less money generated for taxes and less disposable income to purchase products and services.

AI is performing tasks such as including self-driving cars, stock trading, online shopping, stock trading, insurance assessment, manufacturing, accounting, truck drivers, delivery drivers, couriers, HR and healthcare.

"..automation will displace between 400 and 800 million jobs by 2030, requiring as many as 375 million people to switch job categories entirely."

Loads of potential in AI. I think we have just scratched the surface of its capabilities now.

Re: So It's Begun
I would guess lots of AI is going to solve that problem as noted that "70% of network faults stem from human errors or oversights." It's probably not happening overnight, but the incentive is surely there to get AI to resolve issues other than putting humans to work.

So It's Begun
I wonder how many manual jobs will be replaced over the next 10 years by machines with AI brains.
